Section 226 Evidence Act 2011
Section 226 Evidence Act 2011 is titled ‘Procedure of court in case of question being asked without reasonable grounds‘. It is under Part XII (TAKING OF ORAL EVIDENCE AND EXAMINATION OF WITNESSES) of the Act. It states as follows:
If the court is of the opinion that any question referred to in section 224 of this Act was asked without reasonable grounds, it may, if it was asked by any legal practitioner, report the circumstances of the case to the Attorney – General of the Federation or other authority to which such legal practitioner is subject in the exercise of his profession.
